CAMBUSLANG LIVING

Cambuslang is a town on the south-eastern outskirts of Glasgow, Scotland. With approximately 30,000 residents, it is the 27th largest town in Scotland by population, although, never having had a town hall, it may also be considered the largest village in Scotland. It is within the local authority area of South Lanarkshire and directly borders the town of Rutherglen to the west. Historically, it was a large civil parish incorporating the nearby hamlets of Newton, Flemington, Westburn and Halfway.

Cambuslang is located just south of the River Clyde and about 6 miles (9.7 km) south-east of the centre of Glasgow. It has a long history of coal mining, from at least 1490, iron and steel making, and ancillary engineering works, most recently The Hoover Company (in the town from 1946 to 2005). The Clydebridge Steelworks and other smaller manufacturing businesses continue but most employment in the area comes from the distribution or service industries. The headquarters of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service is in Cambuslang.

    Lewis was my estate agent for my flat in Glasgow which I’ve just sold. It was on the market for 3 days before I accepted an offer. The selling process is stressful for sure but Lewis handled it well. At the first meeting, I didn’t believe Lewis when he gave me his thoughts on the price I would get for the property, I had to trust him and the process and sure enough, he was right and I was flabbergasted to say the least. I would highly recommend using them, so easy to deal with. No flashy sales brochures required, easy to communicate with and knows what’s going on in Glasgow with the prices of property (unlike me ha). Thank you Lewis.
