What estate agent reviews should tell you before you enquire

Across Lanarkshire, a good property decision usually starts with clear advice and a sensible next step. This guide keeps the language plain, the advice practical and the tone human, because nobody needs estate agency written like a printer manual.

Quick answer: Reviews should show more than a star rating. Look for proof of communication, useful advice, responsiveness, local knowledge and calm support for sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants.
Useful next step: Read Murphy & Forrester reviews if you want proof before getting in touch. You may also want to read book a free property valuation and meet Lewis Murphy before you enquire.

At a glance

  • Location focus: Lanarkshire and nearby local areas
  • Useful for: Sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants
  • Main theme: Review hub explanation and proof framework.
  • Local contact: Murphy & Forrester Estate Agents, 77 Main Street, Bothwell, G71 8ER

Why reviews matter before you enquire

A review is useful when it tells you what the service actually felt like. A star rating helps, but the detail matters more: did the agent call back, explain the next step, handle viewings properly and make the client feel looked after?

For a seller, reviews can reduce the fear of choosing the wrong agent. For a buyer, they show whether the team are responsive and fair. For a landlord or tenant, they give a sense of how the agency deals with questions once the easy bit is over.

The best review pages do not just say “we are great”. They organise proof around the concerns real people have before they make contact.

What useful review proof should show

Review proof becomes stronger when it is organised by theme. Communication, local knowledge, valuation advice and support after offer are all more useful than a generic “great service”.

Look for patterns, not one-liners.

  • communication and how often clients were updated
  • whether advice felt clear, honest and useful
  • how the agent handled problems or uncertainty
  • whether clients mention named people, not just the brand
  • proof from sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants where possible

Respect every property type

A flat, terrace, vacant home, inherited property or ex-rental is still an important asset. The owner may be making a financial decision, a family decision or both.

The right content should make that person feel understood, not bundled into a category. Clear advice is the common ground.

How Murphy & Forrester Estate Agents approach it

At Murphy & Forrester Estate Agents, the aim is to make the process feel clear, local and properly handled. The team are based at 77 Main Street, Bothwell, G71 8ER, with phone support on 01698 638 002 and email at sales@murphyforrester.co.uk. The approach is simple: explain the route, respect the property, keep people updated and make it comfortable for sellers, buyers, landlords and tenants to ask the next question.

Client proof, useful reviews and clear next steps should support the advice wherever possible. The strongest pages are the ones that make people feel informed before they ever fill in a form.

What happens next?

The next step should feel simple. You can ask for a valuation, speak to the team about a sale or letting question, or use the contact page if you are not sure which route fits.

A good enquiry does not need to be a commitment. It can simply be the start of a clearer conversation. No pressure, no fog, no “we’ll circle back” mystery theatre.

Lewis was my estate agent for my flat in Glasgow which I’ve just sold. It was on the market for 3 days before I accepted an offer. The selling process is stressful for sure but Lewis handled it well. At the first meeting, I didn’t believe Lewis when he gave me his thoughts on the price I would get for the property, I had to trust him and the process and sure enough, he was right and I was flabbergasted to say the least. I would highly recommend using them, so easy to deal with. No flashy sales brochures required, easy to communicate with and knows what’s going on in Glasgow with the prices of property (unlike me ha). Thank you Lewis.

We can’t recommend Lewis Murphy highly enough. He’s been instrumental in helping us scale rapidly and is now managing a portfolio of 20 properties for us with complete professionalism. Lewis handles everything from tenant sourcing and compliance to ongoing maintenance and problem-solving, all with an incredible level of care and efficiency.

What really sets him apart is his commitment - he genuinely treats each property as if it were his own. Nothing is ever too much trouble, and he’s become a trusted partner (and friend) along the way. He knows this game inside out, and our tenants love him also. Our properties are kept in tip top condition 247, 365 days of the year, and from a business point of view, our rents drop into our account as and when they are received with no issues.

Thank you, Lewis - we couldn’t have done it without you!

His responsiveness greatly facilitated communication between both parties. I highly recommend Lewis!
